Was selectman ten years between 1727 and 1741. Representative to the General Court, 1731-2. He gave the land upon which the first Court House in Worcester was ordered to be built in 1732.

Husband of Elizabeth Golding Jennison, married Jun 20,1700 at Charlestown,MA.

Children: Samuel Jennison, Abigail Jennison Baldwin, Elizabeth Jennison Coggin, Lydia Jennison, Mary Jennison Stearns, and Marcy Jennison Johnson.

Inscription

Here lies Buried ye Body of William Jenison Esqr; He was born at Watertown.

(This inscription may be seen on the original gravestone which now stands in the rear part of the Jennison lot in Rural Cemetery.)

This stone excepted, in 1853, all markers in the Old Burial Ground were buried a foot deep over their grave, and the Common was "smoothed over". All markers and inscriptions were carefully recorded before their burial.
