“Gilford E. Wolf, 78, R.R. 2, Attica (Independence), died at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Lafayette, at 12:48 p.m. August 25, 1992, having been ill for two months. He was born in Klondike, Tippecanoe County, September 28, 1913, the son of Charles and Edith Cain Wolf. He was married February 15, 1941, at Attica, to Ruby Synesael. She survives.

He had formerly lived in Klondike, but had been a resident of Independence since 1943. He had attended Klondike School. He had worked at Harrison Steel Casting Company for 43 years, he was foreman in the pattern shop on his retirement. He was a member of the Weaver Chapel Church #10, and a member of Eagles Lodge #2596 of Attica.

Surviving are: two daughters, Carolyn Stetler, Independence; Mrs. Denny (Judy) Snider, West Point; a brother, Merle Wolf, R.R. 2, Williamsport; four sisters, Mrs. James (Edith) Sipple, Lafayette; Mrs. Raymond (Gladys) Bodle, Lafayette; Verna Schilling, Lafayette; Mrs. Paul (Alma) Otten, Merit Island, Florida; five grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and twin sons.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today (Friday) with the Rev. William C. Kehlhofer officiating. Eagle memorial services were held at 8 p.m. Thursday.
