CISLE, Walter D."Cotty", age 86 of Hamilton, died Thursday, December 18, 2008 at Ft. Hamilton Hospital. He was born in Millville, Ohio on January 6, 1922 the son of Walter J. and Mary K. (Gillespie) Cisle, and was a graduate of Ross High School. He served in the US Army during WWII as a tank driver in the 13th Armored Black cat division. In 1945, in Covington, Kentucky he married Jean A. Miles and she preceded him in death in March of 1997. Mr. Cisle was owner and operator of the Ross Township Gravel Company from 1947-1972. Active in his community, he was president of the Ross Township School board in 1965, was on Millville Village Council from 1960-1965, and helped begin the Southwestern Water Association. He was a member of the United States Trotting Association of Harness Racing Horses from 1966-1990. Enjoying softball, he was member of the City and Butler County Championship softball team 1941-1942, and was a member of the Butler County Fast pitch Softball Hall of Fame.

Survivors include his son, Dan L. (Tonya) Cisle, of Jacksonville, Florida; a granddaughter, Shannon (Donald) Glover, of Bothell, Washington; two great grandchildren, Fox Logan and Maverick Grey Glover; mother of Shannon and best friend, Valerie Gaylord, of Hamilton.

The family wishes to extend their thanks to the nurses and staff of the Golden Years Nursing Center and the fifth floor at Ft. Hamilton Hospital for the excellent care they provided.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Monday in the New Miami Church of Christ, 104 Highland Ave. followed by burial in Millville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8:00pm Sunday in the Zettler Funeral Home 2646 Pleasant Ave., and from 1-2:00pm Monday in the church. Online register book at www.zettlerfuneralhome.com
