Mildred Kate Cox, 90, of Crossville, passed away Oct. 11, 2004. Funeral services were conducted Oct. 14 from the chapel of Hood Funeral Home, with burial in Fredonia Cemetery. Bro. Dennie Moore officiated.
Mrs. Cox was born Nov. 8, 1913 in Cumberland County, the daughter of Julius and Ruth Tollett Hamby.
She was a homemaker and a member of Tollett's Chapel Methodist Church.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Boyd and Elaine Cox of Crossville, Glenn and Judy Cox of Barnsville, GA, Grant and Sue Cox and Kenneth and Geneva Cox, all of Crossville; daughter and son-in-law, Fern and James Curtis of Cleveland, TN; sisters, Melba Barnwell and Mabel Barnwell of Crossville; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and special sisters-in-law, Audie Hunter and Betty Cox.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Link Cox; four infant children; brothers, Oscar Hamby and Samuel L. Hamby; and sisters, Madalyn Bryson, Margie McDaniel and Maude Chilikos.
Pallbearers were grandsons, Link Cox, Greg Cox, Michael Hamby, Kenny Hamby, Chris Sutton and Adam Sutton.
Hood Funeral Home and Crematory, LLC was in charge of the arrangements.
