Mrs. Minnie Susan Ashworth, 100, of Hammon, a former Washita County resident, died in the Cheyenne Nursing Home Friday, November 6.
She was born in Whitesboro, Grayson County, Texas, August 5, 1881. She celebrated her 100th birthday on August 5 of this year.
She came to Oklahoma with her parents as a young girl. She was married to John Ashworth in 1901. He preceded her in death January 1, 1950.
Mrs Ashworth resided in Roger Mills and Washita counties most of her life. She had been a long-time resident of Hammon.
She was a member of the Hammon Church of Christ.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Hammon Church of Christ. Burial was in Red Hill Cemetery.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Opal Turner of Hammon. Mrs. Audrey Phillips of Waterford, Cal.; one son, O.M. (Pete) Ashworth of Elk City; 12 grandchildren, including Mrs. Reva Barrow and Louse Gunter of Canute, and 17 great grandchildren.
