H. R. BUCHANAN DIES IN HOSPITAL
Rites Thursday At Church For Local Man

Homer R. Buchanan, 81, 841 Morris Avenue, a retired furniture finisher, died at 635 p.m. Monday at Major Hospital. He had been a patient in the hospital for two weeks.
Born September 18, 1882, in North Carolina, Mr. Buchanan was the son of James G. and Mary Buchanan. On July 20, 1901, he married Mattie M. Sholty and she died April 6, 1959.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the First Pilgrim Holiness Church, where Mr. Buchanan was a member and a Sunday School teacher. Rev. C.M. Swayzee will officiate and burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Buchanan was an employee of the Shelbyville Desk Company before retiring and was the last member of a family of six.
Surviving are three sons and three daughters, Walter H., Charles H. and James O. Buchanan, all of this city. Mrs. Robert (Marie) Douthit and Mrs. Kenneth (Mae Ellen) Garlitch of Shelbyville, and Mrs. Lowell (Mildred) Listenberger of Rushville. There are 18 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.
