Celebration of life services will be 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30, at Providence Funeral Home with the Rev. John Sumner officiating.
Born in Taylor Aug. 13, 1941 to Emzy T. Jr. and Ruth (Thompson) Barker, Emzy was married to Ava Askew in 1960. He was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Coupland. He was also a board member of the American Brahman Breeders Association and the North American Elk Breeders Association. Emzy was an avid hunter and outdoorsman.
He is survived by his wife of over 40 years, Ava Barker of Elgin; one son, Emzy T. Barker IV and wife Stacy Formwalt of Pagosa Springs, Colo.; one daughter, Emily Rogers and husband Charlie of Pagosa Springs, Colo.; brother Barry B. Barker of Taylor; and three grandchildren, Shelbi Jo Barker of Taylor, Emzy T. Barker V and Thomas Hood Barker both of Pagosa Springs, Colo.
