James W. Suldan, son of, William M. and Evelyn Suldan.

James William Suldan, of 1111 Chester Ave. died Monday at the Bremerton Convalescent Center. He was 72 years of age.

Mr. Suldan had been suffering from cancer for the past two years.

He was born the son of William M. and Evely Suldan in Chinook (Pacific County) on Dec. 27, 1887. He attended schools in Ilwaco (Pacific County).

He served his sheetmetal worker's apprenticeship in Astoria, Ore. He and Marie Lambert were married June 1, 1921, and have resided in Bremerton since.

Mr. Suldan retired as a Leadingman sheetmetal worker from Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in 1955 after 30 years of service.

After retiring, he spent much of his spare time helping his son, Byron Suldan of the Suldan boat Works, Port Orchard, develop that business.

He was a Master Mason and a member of Charleston Lodge No. 269. He also was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Sheetmetal Workers' International Association.

Surviors includ his wife, Marie Suldan; a son, Byron Suldan, Port Orchard; a daughter, Mrs. Carl (Lorraine) Swenson, of Seattle; Mrs. Beulah Naish, of Bremerton; and eight grandchildren, Gregory, Mark, Michael, and Eric Suldan, all of Port Orchard, and Susan, Gary, Pamela and Janice Swenson, all of Seattle.

Funeral services are pending with the Lewis Funeral Home.

Silver Anniversary

The silver wedding anniversary
of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Suldan
was celebrated recently when
relatives and friends of the couple
gathered at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. W. R. Goehrs for a picnic
dinner.

The honored couple were mar-
ried in Bremerton June 1, 1921
and they then made their home in
Tacoma. After four years in that
city, they returned to Bremerton
to make their home. Mr. Suldan
is a leadingman sheetmetal worker
in Puget Sound naval shipyard.

Relatives and friends who were
present for the occasion were Mr.

Mr. and Mrs. F. Lambert, Teresa
