"Scott R. Blackburn, 83, died of a cerebral hemorrhage Sunday evening at his home on Tippecanoe Road, Canfield township. He had been in failing health for several months. Born in Poland township, Jan. 27, 1876, he was a son of John and Lucy Henry Blackburn, and was a life resident of the county. For many years he drove a milk collection truck and also farmed as long as his health permitted. Mr. Blackburn was twice married. His first marriage to Miss Bertha Kimley of Canfield in 1901, ended in divorce. His second wife, the former Miss Belle Cowden of Canfield, whom he married in 1924, died seven years ago. He leaves a sister, Mrs. Harry H. Smith of Poland, Mrs. Floyd Blackburn of Warren; two nieces and two nephews. Two sons by his first marriage preceded him in death. Funeral services, with the Rev. Garth A. Maynard officiating, were held Wednesday afternoon at the Williams Funeral Home, and burial made in Zion Lutheran cemetery, Cornersburg."
Note: Floyd Blackburn was his brother who died on 20 June 1949, living in Warren. The reference in the obituary to Mrs. Floyd Blackburn is to his widow, Sadie Hake Blackburn.
