ROBERT BRUCE CULPEPPER
ABBEVILLE. . .Robert Bruce Culpepper, a resident of East Washington Street, Abbeville, died early Tuesday evening, December 16, 2008, in a Dothan hospital. He was 75.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P. M. Thursday, December 18, 2008, in the Holman-Abbeville Mortuary Chapel with Dr. Bob Pemberton officiating. Burial will follow in the Abbeville Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:30 P. M. Thursday at the mortuary. At other times, the family will be at the home of a sister-in-law, Ernestine Harpe Tapley, 120 Ozark Road, Abbeville.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Abbeville Fire and Rescue, 201 Bradley Street, Abbeville, AL. 36310.

Mr. Culpepper was a lifelong resident of Abbeville, son of the late Robert Elisha Culpepper and Mary Evelyn Doswell Culpepper. He was retired, due to disability, as a sales clerk from the State of Alabama, Alcohol Beverage Control Board, in the Headland store. Mr. Culpepper was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church and Abbeville Lions Club. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jennifer Lee Culpepper.

Surviving relatives include his wife, Peggy Hancock Culpepper, Abbeville; a son, Robert Everett Culpepper and wife, Denise McCoy Culpepper, Abbeville; three grandchildren, Justin Everett Culpepper, Chelse Chere Culpepper and Caylee Renee Culpepper; two sisters, Libby Williams, Abbeville; Julia Gay, Cordele, GA..; a brother, Thomas Elbert Culpepper, Ozark; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law from the Hancock family; Maggie Carter, Ernestine Harpe Tapley, Ruby Mims and husband, Tom Mims, Mary Lou Beasley, Birdie Mae Hancock, Wilford Hancock and wife, Judy Hancock; special friends, Kenneth Ham, Diane Money, Huey and Rena Jones; several nieces and nephews.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Andy Harpe, Randy Palmer, Julian Palmer, Beau Culpepper, Billy Wayne Bedsole and Huey Jones. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be members of the Adult Men's II Sunday School of the Calvary Baptist Church.
