St. Ann Church barbecue: Info from Borger News Herald:

The church is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the barbecue's inception, which took place in 1989. Roy Christian, who was a longtime member of the St. Ann's-St. John's parish, worked with Monsignor Norbert Kuehler to bring about an event that has remained a community tradition for St. Ann's Church and its supporters.

Father Kuehler has continued to encourage his flock to continue the barbecue as a memorial to Christian, as a community-building activity, and as a much-needed fundraiser for the church.

According to church member Kaye McCall, Roy's wife Betty was a continual supporter and worker for the barbecue until her death last year, and this year's dinner will be dedicated to the first anniversary of her passing.
