Inis Brasel Shaddox, age 90 of Harrison, Arkansas passed away Thursday, December 11, 2008 at Golden Living Hilltop Nursing Home in Harrison.

The daughter of Baxter and Dora (Carlton) Brasel, she was born December 3, 1918 in Newton County, Arkansas.

Inis was a lifelong resident of Newton and Boone Counties and was of the Baptist faith. She had been a cook since she was 12 years old, beginning at Diamond Cave Cafe, then working for Jasper School Cafeteria, Ozarks Cafe at Jasper, Seville Hotel, Coachman Restaurant, and the Ramada Inn in Harrison.

A person never left her house hungry.

Her parents preceded her in death, along with her husband, Rex Shaddox; a son, Garth Shaddox; her brothers, Wayne, Ward, Doy, Ted, Ben, Sam, and Ray Brasel; and her sisters, Maude Town and Fay Letterman.

Survivors are her sons, Melvin Shaddox and his wife, Shirley and Dorwin Shaddox and his wife, Patsy, all of Harrison; six grandchildren, Robby Shaddox and his wife, Brandy, Justin Shaddox and his wife, Katy, Stephanie Welch and her husband, Chris, Misty Skudlarczyk and her husband, Dan, Kevin Shaddox and his wife, Becca, and Christy Inman and her husband, Chad. She is also survived by thirteen great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Visitation was Sunday, December 14, 2008 with service Monday, December 15, 2008, both at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison. Pastor Robert Shaddox will officiated. Burial followed in Jasper Cemetery. Pallbearers were Kevin Shaddox, Justin Shaddox, Robby Shaddox, Guy Shaddox, Dean Brasel, and Joey Skudlarczyk. Honorary pallbearers were Arlis Jones, Jerry Jones, Willie Brasel, Jerry Brasel, Robert Letterman, and Teddy Brasel.
