Vivian Ruth Lacy, age 85 was born in Heavener, Oklahoma on June 8, 1919. She departed on September 26, 2004, in Oklahoma City. She married Urel on May 20, 1939. She and Urel were happily married 63 years. Vivian was a member of the Lindsay United Methodist Church for 47 years. Vivian transferred membership to the New Hope Methodist Church when she and Urel moved to Oklahoma City in 2001.

Urel and Vivian moved to Erick, Oklahoma in 1945, where they both taught school. They moved back to Lindsay in 1953. Vivian taught first and third grade in Lindsay until her retirement in 1976. She was loved and adored by many of her former students.

Vivian and Urel traveled together in their RV for many years after they retired. Vivian was a master seamstress and loved to china paint. She was a loving wife, mother and a doting grandmother.

Vivian was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Urel, her parents, Grover Commodore Freeman and Edna Estelle Turner McAlvain Freeman and a brother, David Neal Freeman. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Forrest and Loretta Lacy, her two grandsons, Justin and Travis Lacy, a sister, Lois McAlvain Pugh of McAlester, Oklahoma and a brother, Alton Freeman of Los Angeles, California, along with many special nieces and nephews, and a host of loving friends.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 30, 2004, at Lindsay United Methodist Church at 10:30 a.m.
