Was wounded at 2nd Battle of Bull Run on Aug. 29, 1862 and captured by rebels. He was paroled at the Groveton battlefield. He was taken to the Georgetown College hospital where he died on September 12.
According to his company commander, Captain Daniel Kaufman he was hit in the right breast by an elongated musket ball. Exactly just when and where he was and during what part of the attack he was wounded is unknown.
Tombstone photo is new one by Veteran Affairs to replace one which had name misspelled as "Brobert"
