November 3, 1983. James Oran 'Joe' Adcock. Services were held on Friday, October 28……… at the Northern Cochise Community Hospital. He was 73 years old. Mr. Adcock was born in Mills County, Texas on May 31, 1910 and was a farmer until moving to Willcox in 1965. He was engaged in custom harvesting until his retirement in 1977. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Memphis, Texas.

Mr. Adcock is survived by his daughter, Patsy McCanne of Willcox; two sons, Bunky of Willcox and Butch of Ruidoso, New Mexico; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren; three brothers, Raymond, Wichita Falls, Texas; Joel of Midland, Texas and Bill of Fort Smith, Arkansas; and five sisters, Lola B. Whitten of Mineola, Texas, Janie Lewis of Odessa, Texas, Lorean Sunders and Ruth Ellerd, both of Memphis, Texas, and Lavern Hamel of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Casket bearers were Johnny Boulder, L.C. Cohorn, Raymond Reeves, Harry Lusk, Louis Kimbell and Bill Kimbell.
Honorary Casket Bearers were Walter Zum Mallen, Harold Brennan, David May, Jason Carlisle, Bob Wood and Ernest Rust. Organist for the services, held at Westlawn Chapel, was Chris Henkel and soloist was Lana Carlisle. Albert Faulk officiated. Interment followed at Sunset Cemetery, at sunset, as Lana Carlisle sang "Beyond the Sunset." All arrangements were by Dale and Sybil Carlstedt of Westlawn Chapel."
