The departed sister and mother, Margaretha Bieck – nee Trump, was born on the 24th day of February, at Hausen, Gerabrunn Precinct, a small town in Wurttenburg, southern Germany.
After her confirmation in the land of her birth, she accompanied her parents to America and located near Helenville, Wisconsin in the year 1851.
In 1859 she was united in marriage to George Bieck at Helenville, Wisconsin. In 1883 they came to Nebraska and located seven miles northwest of Harvard. After forty-three years of devotion and sacrifiees her beloved companion preceded her to the Heavenly Home. This union was blessed with eight children, six sons and two daughters. Two sons and one daughter passing away in infancy and one daughter, mother of Mrs. Minnie Keller, John and W. G. Schwenk, leaving this world at the age of 32 years.
On January 7, 1918, she was taken sick with pneumonia at the home of her youngest son, where she has made her home since the death of her husband. After bearing her intense pains for several weeks, she was granted her long desired wish and called Home on Thursday, February 7th, 1918, at the age of 78 years, 11 months and 14 days. She
leaves to mourn her loss, four sons, J. G., M. F., Fred and John, thirteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren all living in this vicinity, also a host of friends.
She has been in poor health for many years, but found great comfort and spiritual strength in the many Bible verses and hymns learned in her girlhood days, and often prayed her confirmation confession:
Lord Jesus for thee I live, for thee I suffer, for thee I die.
Lord Jesus thine will I be in life and death.
Grant me, oh Lord eternal salvation.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. E. Holder of Gladstone, Nebraska, on Saturday, February 9th, 1918 at 1 o'clock from the home and 2 o'clock from the German Evangelical church, five miles northwest of this city, of which she has always been a faithful member. Interment was made in the Evangelical cemetery by the side of her husband.
