BENJAMIN BASHORE
Monday afternoon at his home near Servia occurred the death of Benjamin Bashore, death being caused from a complication of diseases. The funeral services were conducted at the Fairview church Wednesday morning, and were largely attended, he being a popular man in that locality.
Mr. Bashore was born in Pennsylvania, May 22, 1831, and at death was nearly eighty years of age. He has lived in the vicinity of Servia for many years, and was a well to do and highly respected farmer. He was a member of the Radical United Brethren Church, and strongly devoted to its principles. He was a good citizen, a good neighbor and a good friend, and the community loses in his death.

In 1853 Benjamin Bashore married Elizabeth Walters and lived in Cumberland Co., Penn. He worked in a Tannery when young and also farmed. During the Civil war moved his family and settled about a mile south of Servia. He farmed and had a large house. Was considered as one of the richest men in Wabash county when he died. Hiram Bashore was appointed as executor, being the oldest child.
Believe Benjamins grandfather was George Bashore a career military man.
Children: John W. Jan. 23, 1857
Sarah Born 1860-1951, married to Carson Reahard, Hiram married to Liolla Baker and Minnie Slusser, Born Aug 4, 1855
