Born May 21, 1906 in Blue Springs. Neb., Opal died Oct. 20, 2008 at her home in Lone Pine. She was 102.
Opal will be remembered for her dedication to the community of Lone Pine, her years working at the Union 76 station in Lone Pine and for a great game of golf. Those who had the privilege of knowing Opal will miss her tremendously.
She is survived by her sister, Evelyn Nelson and family; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and many loving friends.
Opal was preceded in death by her husband, Irving O. Burkhardt, and sons, Donald I. Burkhardt and Byron L. Burkhardt.
