Samuel Earl Obray was born August 14, 1888 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Samuel Brenchley Obray and Mary Ann James. He married Alice Elizabeth Eardley on June 19, 1912 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was a contractor for Utah Power and Light Company. He was a member of the LDS Church, belonging to the Jefferson Ward.
Samuel passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 1947 at Latter-Day Saints Hospital in The Avenues neighborhood of Salt Lake City, Utah, after a two week battle with cholangitis. He resided at 1554 South State Street (100 East) in the Central City neighborhood of Salt Lake City, Utah at the time of his death.
Samuel was laid to rest on Friday, March 21, 1947 in the Salt Lake City Cemetery in The Avenues neighborhood of Salt Lake City, Utah.
