BLYTHEWOOD - Mrs. Jonnie Ozell Tarpley, 91, of Blythewood, died May 27, 2012.

She was a daughter of the late Edgar Daniel and Hautice Odell Sykes Cook and the widow of Howard Franklin Tarpley, Jr.

Born and raised in East Point, Georgia, Jonnie worked there as a supervisor with Blue Horse Tablet Division of Union Camp Corp in Chamblee, GA, was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church and the Adult Ladies Sunday School Class. She was also a member East Point Eastern Star, where she was a past worthy matron. She was an active member of the College Park Historical Society.

Survivors include her daughter, Linda Ann Rogers and husband, John, of Blythewood; and three grandchildren, Alan Cox, Michelle Steigerwalt, and Aimee Hodge; and five great grandchildren.

The funeral service for Mrs. Tarpley will be held 2 o'clock, Saturday, June 2nd, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 3491 Washington Rd, East Point, Georgia. The Rev. Ray Kuykendall will officiate with John Rogers giving the eulogy. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
