She retired as a schoolteacher. She was a member of Rutledge Memorial Baptist Church and Exxon Annuitant Club. She is survived by six nephews: Dennis G. Jurs, M.D. of Spartanburg, SC, Barry H. Jurs of Macbeth, SC, Albert Dennis of Johnsonville, SC, Lawrence Tylee, William J. Tylee and Walter Tylee all of Charleston, SC; one sister-in-law: Katherine D. Dennis of Johnsonville, SC.
