Lucille Taylor Mattingly, 76, 390 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, died at 5:50 P.M. on June 3, 2003, at Cedars of Lebanon Nursing Home. Born in Loretto on Feb. 20, 1927, Mattingly retired after 19 years from the Loretto Mother house Infirmary where she worked as a nurse.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Edwin Mattingly on July 23, 1991; her parents, William Leslie and Mary Sally Mattingly Taylor; two infant children, Charles Leslie and Mary Elizabeth Mattingly; a granddaughter, Kimberly Michelle Mattingly; and a grandson, Jonathon Clint Brady.

Survivors include: a daughter, Anna Margaret Brady of Loretto; three sons, Juddie Mattingly of Harrodsburg; Wayne Taylor Mattingly of Bardstown; and Donald Lee Mattingly of Loretto; a sister, Celestinita Hardesty of Raywick; a brother, C. J. "Buddy" Taylor of Bardstown; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

A funeral Mass was held June 6 at St. Francis of Assisi Church, St. Francis, with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Lawrence H. Lindle and Rev. James W. Graf officiated. Pallbearers were Terry Joe Taylor, Joe Pat Taylor, Stephen Hardesty, Jared Robbins, David Ray Hardesty and Les Mattingly. Mattingly Funeral Home, Loretto, was in charge of the arrangements. Buried, 6-06-2003, in St Francis of Assisi Cemetery, St. Francis, KY.
