Pebble Lee Bates, age 84, of Mena, passed away Thursday, December 11, 2008 in Mena.
She was born February 29, 1924 in Yocana, Arkansas to the late James Taylor Lunsford and the late Belle Cox Lunsford. She was united in marriage to the late Jodie Bates. Mrs. Bates was a member of the Dallas Avenue Baptist Church, a lifelong resident of Mena and a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Taylor and Belle Lunsford, her brothers, Alvin, Noble, Lon and Gilbert Lunsford , her sister, Guessie Willis and her son, Darris Bates.
Funeral services will be Monday, December 15, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Donnie Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in the Pinecrest Memorial Park under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home.
Visitation with family and friends will be Sunday, December 14, 2008 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Mrs. Bates Grandchildren, Richard Bates, Jacob Rzepka, William Raney, Jeff Bates, Brent Fountain and Brad Fountain.
