My absolutely beautiful auntie Simone

Simone M Anderson, 82, of Haines Road, Hermantown went to be with her Lord on Friday, May 12, 2000, in St. Mary's Hospice with her family at her side.

She was born August 16, 1917, in Wrenshall to Oscar and Marie (Devos) Matten. She lived in Chicago for several years, where she worked in the Tea Room of DeMet's Candy Co. She returned to Wrenshall in 1939. She worked for the Magnolia Shop for three years and then worked for 12 years as a nurse's aide at Miller-Dwan Medical Center, retiring in 1987. She was a volunteer at St. Mary's Medical Center for 10 years and was a foster grandmother at Lowell and Hermantown Elementary schools. She attended Calvary Temple Church for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, George Woodall; her second husband, Cecil Anderson; a daughter, Carol Henrickson in 1964; brothers, LeRoy, William, Clarence (Schwer), and Julius Matten; and a sister, Laura Bandle.

She is survived by daughters, Mary Jeanne (Larry Annis) Woodall of Blaine, Minn., Pat (Leo) Youderin, and Susan (Mike) Bubacz, both of Duluth; sons Jim (Darla Reed) Woodall of South Range, Ray (Renee) Woodall of Wrenshall, and Chris Anderson of Knife River, Minn.; a sister, Clara (Don) Bulfer of Fairmont, Minn.; brothers Omer Matteen of Carlton and Morris (Josephine) Matten of Brainerd, Minn.; 20 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 6-8pm Monday in Williams-Lobermeier Funeral Home. Funeral service pending for Tuesday in Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church. Burial in Park Hill Cemetery.
