On August 12, 1933 she married Henry Truman "Toots" McAlexander. They did not have any children.
Roberta was a sales manager for RCA Victor Distributing Corporation at Fairfax and Funston Roads, in the Fairfax Industrial district of Kansas City, Kansas. She worked for twelve years as a secretary with ever increasing responsibilities. In 1946, she was promoted and became the only female sales manager, directing a sales force of ten men, who covered the state of Kansas, and the western half of Missouri.
At first there were objections from the other executives, but she eventually gained the respect of her peers. "Alex" provided early electronics, such as television, radio and record players to her territory. She saw the first distribution of color televisions.
Roberta graduated from Piper High School and attended Kansas City Kansas Junior College. Later, Truman and Roberta bought, and managed, a motel in Springfield, Missouri.
Roberta passed away on August 6, 1976.
