William R. Sherman, 71, a farmer and lifetime resident of Hamilton, died Saturday, June 6, in Newman Memorial Hospital, Emporia.

Born in Hamilton August 2, 1898, the son of William T. and Margaret Gleason Sherman. He was married to Dona M. Watts in Fredonia, January 3, 191.

Survivors include his widow of the home; two sons Willis R. of Virgil, and Melvin of Hamilton; two daughters, Mrs. Irene Schlotterbeck of Hamilton, and Mrs. Gladys Williams of Madison, one sister, Mrs. Winnie E. Watts of Quincy.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 10, in the Hamilton United Methodist Church with burial in the Hamilton Cemetery.

Campbell Funeral Home, Eureka was in charge.
