DONA M. SHERMAN
Dona May Sherman of Hamilton died at her residence in Hamilton on Tuesday, June 4, 1996, at the age of 97.
She was born in Quincy, Kansas, on March 21, 1899, the daughter of Willie Archy and Cora Millie (Ozborn) Watts. She was raised in Quincy and attended school there. She had been a lifetime resident of Quincy and Hamilton area, and a member of the Methodist Church.
She was united in marriage to William Ruford Sherman in Fredonia. They lived on a farm southeast of Hamilton, where she was a homemaker. Mr. Sherman preceded her in death on June 6, 1970.
She is survived by one son, Melvin Sherman of Hamilton; two daughters, Irene Schlotterbeck of Hamilton and Gladys Williams of Madison; 15 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Harry and Willis (Bus) Sherman, tree grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, nine brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services were held Friday, June 7, 1996, at 11:00 a.m. at the Hamilton United Methodist Church with the Reverend Willie Jones
A memorial has been established in Mrs. Sherman's name to the Greenwood County Hospital. Contributions maybe left at the Campbell-Kelley Funeral Home in Eureka, which was in charge of service arrangement. officiating.
Interment followed at the Janesville Cemetery at Hamilton.
