Joseph C. Blinston, 82, of Cataract died Thursday, November 27, 2008 at Black River Memorial Hospital. He was born on October 24, 1926 in Sparta to Edwin and Alieda (Meyers) Blinston. He grew up in the Cataract area and married the former Mary Thill on October 23, 1952 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Black River Falls.
After marriage they lived in the Town of New Lyme. Joseph farmed and then worked at Fort McCoy for 30 years. He retired in 1988. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Sparta.
He is survived by his wife, Mary of Cataract; a son, Joey (Diane) Blinston of Cataract; grandson, Dale Blinston of Cataract; granddaughter, Hilary (Tim) Mikelson of Cadott, WI ; great granddaughter, Elizabeth, and a sister, Rosella Young of Shamrock, WI
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Henry, and Delbert.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Sparta with Father James Leary O.F.M. Cap. officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery, Sparta.
