Funeral services for J. M. Prince, 73, who died of heart failure Tuesday afternoon at 12:05 p.m. at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ethel Graham in Zavalla, were to be held this afternoon at 1 p.m. at Zavalla Baptist Church with Rev. J. N. Wooten and Rev. J. B. Nations officiating.
The funeral party left after church services for Alto, where interment was made. A Masonic ceremony was held at both church and burial services.

Prince was born in Georgia in 1862 and had lived with his daughter in Zavalla since the death of his wife 2 years ago. Prior to that time, he lived 10 years in Lufkin. He was married to Ella Robinson of Cherokee County in 1891.
He operated the Palace News Stand here for a number of years and was better known as "DAD" Prince. He was a member of the Baptist church and a member of the Masonic Lodge in Alto for 30 years.
