Mary E. Pehlke, 85, of 49 E. Spring St., Chippewa Falls, died Wednesday, October 21, 1998, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Chippewa Falls.
She was born October 11, 1913, in Mondovi to Elfa W. (Gueltzow) and Anton Zittel. She grew up on the Mondovi and Nelson area, where she attended school.
Mary married Albert H. Pehlke on August 15, 1936, in Eau Claire. The resided in Chippewa Falls since their marriage. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Eleanore (Jim) Damrau of Marshfield, Helen (Rodney) Will of Windom, Minn., and Mary Cranford of Chippewa Falls; five sons, Albert Pehlke Jr. of Mountain Home, Idaho, Robert (Joan) Pehlke of Chippewa Falls, Roger (Kathy) Pehlke of Hayward, Marvin (Bridget) Pehlke of Spring Valley and Arnold (Kathy) Pehlke of Chippewa Falls. She is also survived by three sisters, Minnie Henning of Eau Claire, Mildred (Derwin) Fredrickson of Mondovi and Vilona (William) Ashwell of Altoona; 21 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband on April 10, 1969; her parents; one sister, Clara Grasham; twin children, Mary and John Pehlke, deceased in infancy; and two grandchildren.
A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 26, at Faith Lutheran Church, Chippewa Falls, with the Rev. William Plautz officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Monday at St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery in Foster.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel in Chippewa Falls and an hour before services Monday at the church.
