IRA F. GARNER DIES

Services Monday for Custodian of Brush College Schools

Ira F. Garner, 68, of 1625 N. 34th St. died at 12:10 p.m. yesterday in Decatur and Macon County Hospital, where he had been a patient since last Monday.
Mr. Garner had been a resident of Decatur for 24 years and custodian in Brush College Schools for the last 18 years. He was a member of West Macon Street Church of God.
Mr. Garner was born in Ashland on Feb. 13, 1866, a son of Charles K. and Lola Garner. He married Elizabeth McArthur, who died in 1920. He married Ora Ramsey in Virginia on March 1, 1923.
He leaves his wife; 16 children, Mrs. Blance Ellis, Mrs. Fae Kasson and Mrs. Helen Gardner, all of East St. Louis; Mrs. Edna Andrews, Mrs. Mary Schultz, Mrs. Betty Leber, Floyd, Virgil, Edward and Ira, Jr., all of Decatur. and Evelyn, Harold, Larry, Carole, Sharon and Jerry, all at home.
He leaves two brothers, Verns and Lloyd, both of Chandlersville. One sister preceded him in death.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Brintlinger's Funeral Home. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m.
