Edwin Harold ‘Kick' Kicklighter, 78, passed away February 8 in Memorial Medical Center. The Evans County native was a lifelong member of Antioch Baptist Church. He was retired owner and operator of Kick's Gas and Kick's Auto Salvage. He graduated from Claxton High School where he excelled in football.
Surviving are his wife, Jean Kicklighter of Claxton; their children, Kevin Kicklighter of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Anthony Kicklighter and Becky Kicklighter, both of Claxton; Shannon Kicklighter of Statesboro, Shawn Kicklighter and Crystal Kicklighter of Claxton; his children, Edwin Kicklighter of Albuquerque, N.M., Kerry Kicklighter, Elois K. Waters and Carole K. Kennedy of Claxton; one sister, Veatrice Holland of Claxton; 15 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday, February 11, 11 a.m. at Antioch Baptist Church with the Rev. Kenny Edwards officiating. Burial was in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were his sons, Edwin, Kerry, Anthony and Shawn Kicklighter and grandson Ben Helmuth IV, and his son-in-law, Andy Waters.
