Paxton:

Floyd D. Barringer, 85, Paxton, died Saturday at Burnham Hospital, Champaign, after a short illness. His funeral will be Tuesday at the Ford-Baier Funeral Home, Paxton; the Rev. Allen Kelley officiating. Burial will be in Glen Cemetery, Paxton. He was born 10-20-1900 in Witt, Montgomery County, a son of Corwin E. and Carrie L. Lewey Barringer. He married Mable N. Turner 11-22-1922 in Fairfield; she survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Jo Gritton, Paxton; one son, Eugene, rural Paxton; one brother, Earl, Paxton, four sisters, Viola Meuser, Rantoul; Hettie Mitchel and Fern Shelton, both of Wayne City; and Bessie Mayer, Mount Vernon; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, three brothers and one sister. Mr. Barringer spent his early years in Hamilton County, where he attended school. He and his wife moved to Ford County in 1926 and farmed until their retirement in 1966, after which they moved to town. He attended the First Southern Baptist Church, Paxton.
