THE VILLAGES — Thomas F. Carnahan, 72, died Thursday, Dec. 4, 2008.

Mr. Carnahan was born in McKeesport, Pa., but lived in Glassport, Pa. when he was young and moved to The Villages from Bay Village, Ohio, in 2000. He was a retired manager of industrial sales with GE, where he worked for 29 years; a U.S. Navy Reserve veteran; a member of North Lake Presbyterian Church, The Villages Pittsburgh Club, Polo Ridge Club and The Villages Genealogical Society.

Survivors include his wife, Doris; sons Thomas, Pittsburgh, Theodore, Alton, Ill.; sister Anna Marie O'Brien, Pittsburgh; and two grandchildren Tommy and Beth.

Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9, at North Lake Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be from 2-7 p.m., Monday, Dec. 8, at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, The Villages. Memorial contributions may be made to Cancer Society Hope Lodge, Gainesville, FL 32778 or Hospice of Lake and Sumter Counties, 2445 Lane Park Road, Tavares, FL 32778.

Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, The Villages, is in charge of arrangements.

His cremated remains will be buried in the spring of 2009 at Richland Hills Cemetery, Dravosburg, Pa. and graveside services will be held then.
