"Born in Howard County, Mo."∼Mrs. Peter Gibbs Died, Friday night, February 26, at her home near Glasgow, Mrs. Peter D. Gibbs, aged 71 years. She had been in feeble health for some time and an attack of bilious fever proved fatal. Deceased had lived in that community for many years and was universally esteemed for her virtues. She had been a consistent Christian for years, having joined the Baptist Church at Mt. Moriah 36 years ago. She married Peter D. Gibbs 1849, and she leaves on daughter and three sons, and two sisters, Misses Sallie and Betsy Warden of Fayette, to mourn her loss. All the human hands could do was done by her kind physician and loving kindred to sustain the flickering life and make her comfortable but to no avail. She was buried at Pleasant Green Cemetery, Saturday afternoon, February 26. We extend sympathy to the bereaved ones. [February 1897]
