Arsulla Larsen Bird, age 98, of Bluebell, passed away December 23, 2016, at the Uintah Basin Sr. Villa.
She was born January 31, 1918, in Ioka, to Louis and Lozetta Spencer Larsen. She married Charles Hosea Bird on April 2, 1938, in Vernal, and they were sealed on June 19, 1964, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died March 30, 1980.
Arsulla was a wonderful homemaker who enjoyed cooking and crafts. Her bread and cinnamon rolls were the best around, she canned everything, and she made so many quilts that everyone in her family has at least one. She also liked to go camping, hunting, fishing, and riding horses – even until she was over 80 years old. Her favorite pastime was dancing, and she will be remembered for her great sense of humor.
She was close to her sisters, and took good care of her family, even to the point of going without so they could have.
She was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and in her younger days, attended the Provo and Vernal LDS Temples often.
Arsulla is survived by her children, Daniel C (Roleen) Bird, Bluebell; Rosie Viola (Wayne) Christiansen, Irwin, ID; Emma Lou Kopp, Idaho Falls; Eunice Lydia Springer, Roosevelt; Peggy Ann Capwell, Roosevelt; Reva Arsulla (Daniel) Adams, Bluebell; Burt Clyde (Caroline) Bird, Mt. Emmons; 29 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, many great-great grandchildren; one sister, Lucille Curtis, of Kearns; and many nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; daughter, Sherri Dawn Bird; grandchildren, Jeff Christiansen, Jason Bird, Monte Bird, Shane & Shanna Bird; Joshua Warr; brothers and sisters, Clyde, Tom, Spencer, & Charlie Larsen, Rose Hosiek, Louise Salmonson, Nellie Mecham, Emma Larsen, Alene; 1 great-grandchild, and sons-in-law, Dwight Springer & Chico Capwell.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 30, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at the Altamont LDS Stake Center where a viewing will be held from 10-10:45 a.m.
