Stuart Brock Angle, assistant to the president of French Camp Academy and former president of the school, died Aug. 7, 1988, at the Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson following an illness of several weeks. He was 54.
Services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the French Camp Presbyterian Church with burial in the French Camp Cemetery.
Angle a native of Florida, served as president of French Camp Academy from 1967 until 1977 when he left to become president of Whitworth Bible College in Brookhaven. He also served as headmaster of Columbia Academy at Columbia and at Magnolia Academy in Jackson. He returned to French Camp in 1983 to serve as assistant to Dr. Richard Canon, academy president.
He also served as pastor of the French Camp Presbyterian Church. He was a graduate of Columbia Bible College where he received his B. A. degree and Birmingham Southern with a B. A. degree in. history. He received a master's degree in education from the University of Mississippi.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ann Elizabeth Angle of French Camp; three sons Stuart Brock Angle Jr. of Greenville, Jim Angle of Jackson, Tim Angle of Dallas, Tx.; a granddaughter, Caroline Crews Angle.
The Rev. Richard Canon and the Rev. Paige Cothren officiated.
Pallbearers were John Cockrell, Charles Rich, Ralph Newman, Hugh Long, Jim Hill, Rusty Denman, Billy Perry, and Sam Allen.
Honorary pallbearers were Talmadge Branning, elders and deacons of the French Camp Presbyterian Church.
The family requests that memorials be made to French Camp Academy.
