Graveside services for Thurman Gressett will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Blue Springs Cemetery with the Revs. Lin Chesney and Bennie Buckley officiating. Stephens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Gressett, 74, of Meridian, died Sunday, April 8, 2007, at Forrest County General Hospital in Hattiesburg.
Survivors include his sister, Janet Rogers of Chunky; several nieces and nephews; step-daughter, Ceclia Leinger of San Antonio; step-son, Eddie Lefaverer of Corinth; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, the Rev. Troop Gressett and Emma Castle Gressett; sisters, Bessie Dean, Grace Graham; brothers, George Gressett, Linzy Gressett, Opie Gressett and Odie Gressett.
Memorials may be made to Blue Spring Cemetery Fund in Care of Newton County Bank in Newton.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.- 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
