Vivian Marion Ortloff, age 83, of Glencoe, Minnesota, passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2016, at Glencoe Regional Health Services Long Term Care in Glencoe, Minnesota.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, May 3, 2016, 2:00 P.M. at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe, Minnesota, with interment following at High Island Cemetery in New Auburn, Minnesota.
Visitation will be held Monday, May 2, 2016, from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. at Johnson-McBride Funeral Chapel in Glencoe, Minnesota, and will continue one hour prior the service at the church on Tuesday.
Vivian Marion (Bachmann) Ortloff was born on December 3, 1932, in Arlington, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Herman and Alma (Voight) Bachmann. Vivian was baptized as an infant on December 18, 1932, by Rev. R. Heidmann and later was confirmed in her faith as a youth on April 14, 1946, by Rev. John G. Bradtke both at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Arlington, Minnesota. She received her education by attending District #15 country school in Arlington Township, St. Paul’s Lutheran Parochial School in Arlington and graduated with the Arlington High School Class of 1950.
On December 23, 1953, Vivian was united in marriage to Ronald Ortloff by Rev. John G. Bradtke at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Parsonage in Arlington, Minnesota. Vivian and Ronald made their home on the farm in Glencoe, Minnesota. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Barbara and Kevin. Vivian and Ronald shared over 43 years of marriage until Ronald passed away on June 22, 1997.
In addition to being a loving wife, mother and homemaker, Vivian worked at Telex, the Glencoe Advertiser and Seneca. Vivian was a member at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe.
Vivian loved the outdoors. She enjoyed gardening and had many beautiful flower beds at her home. Vivian loved to embroider, read, go for walks and was an avid bowler. She also loved animals and never found a stray she didn’t adopt. Vivian treasured the time spent with her family and friends
Vivian passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2016, at Glencoe Regional Health Services Long Term Care in Glencoe, Minnesota, at the age of 83 years, 4 months and 25 days. Blessed be her memory.

Daughter, Barbara Coker and her husband, David, of Virginia Beach, VA;
Grandchildren, Melissa Atemon and her husband, Anthony,
Ashley Alvarez and her husband, Fernando,
Christopher Coker,
Timothy Coker and his wife, Taylor;
Great Grandchildren, Alito & Mati Alvarez, Baby Boy AJ on the way;
Sister-In-Law, Arlene Fabel and her husband, Ken, of Green Isle, MN;
Nieces, Nephews, Other relatives and many friends.
Vivian is preceded in death by her Parents, Herman and Alma Bachmann; Husband, Ronald Ortloff; Son, Kevin Ortloff; Siblings, Gerald Bachmann and 2 Infant Brothers.
