Mrs. Wiebke Ch. Ruther died at Beaver, Iowa, at the home of her son John, where she spent the last three months. She was buried by the side of her husband, who died 20 years ago, and rests in St. John's Cemetery; Rev. A. Hahn officiated. Her son John, who accompanied the casket, arrived in Anchor Wednesday evening, December 5. The funeral was held Thursday, December 6 at 10 a.m. Mrs. Ruther was born 12-6-1821 at Lehe, near Lundea, Province Holstein, Germany. She was baptized and confirmed in the Evangelical Lutheran Church. She was married to F. Ruther in September, 1841. The resided in Lehe and in Heide, and left Germany in 1881. Since coming to this country (blur) Anchor township. Of their twelve children nine are living three in Germany and six in America. She was only sick since Thanksgiving. A paralytic stroke caused her death. Her age was 85 years. May she rest in her saviour and redeemer.
