May Anna (Mills) Craven was born Oct. 25, 1881 to Milton Forest and Emily Anna (Henry) Mills at Springdale, Redwood, MN and departed this life Oct. 31, 1975 at Paola, KS, age 94 years and 6 days.

She was the last of ten children. She moved with her parents by covered wagon from Minnesota to Kansas when five years of age. She has sometimes faintly recalled experiences along the way.

She was united in marriage to John Vernon Craven on Dec. 31, 1902. To this union two daughters were born. Zella Ida Peeples departed this life Apr. 23, 1963.

She was converted in the Wesleyan Methodist Church when a young woman and remained true to the faith. She later joined the Friends Church. She worked beside her husband as a minister's wife, calling, teaching Sunday School classes and playing the old-fashioned organ.

Her great enjoyments were reading and sewing. It was a great trial to her when her eye sight failed and she could not do these things.

She leaves to mourn her loss one daughter Ethel Frieda Hay, Osawatomie, KS., two grandchildren, Wilma Schwind, Flint, MI. and Dr. Richard Lee Peeples, Upland, CA.; three great-grandchildren, Kindell Schwind, Robert and Michilis Peeples , 12 step-grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
