Mrs. Sadie C. Wood
Delavan -- funeral services for Mrs. Sadie C. Wood, 85, were held at the United Methodist church in Delavan Wednesday. the Rev. David Meade officiated and interment was in Lura Cemetery near Easton
Mrs. Wood died Sunday May 2, 1971 at United Hospital, Blue Earth. She had been a resident of St. Luke's Home since January, 1970 and had entered the hospital last Friday morning.
She was born Feb 8, 1886 in Lura Township, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Orson Colby. She lived her entire life, until last year, in the Delavan area.
She was married in 1908 at Winnebago to Peter Wood.
Survivors include her husband; two grandsons of TN & MO; and a brother, Roy Colby, of Delavan.
She was preceeded in death by her parents, a daughter, Ellen Lilly, five sisters; and five brothers.
Hietner Funeral Home of Wells was in charge of arrangements.
