Clarissa Allen Soper
Mrs. Clarissa Allen Soper, a former resident of this city, but more recently of Leavenworth, Kansas, died March 5th, at Abilene, Texas, whither by advice of her physician she had gone to recuperate her failing health. During her final illness, which was of several months duration, she was at the home of her son, Douglas Soper, where loving hands administered attention with the hope that she might at least be so far restored as to return to her home. It being her first wish to close her life in her own home. But disease was unrelenting to the last and far from her kindred, with the single exception above noted, she passed away.
The deceased was born in Lockport in 1825 and lived here many years. Here she married R. D. Soper, whom she survived only a few months.
Her surviving relatives are one son, Douglas, of Abilene, Texas, and Mrs. Ina Mussler of Leavenworth, Kansas and one brother and three sisters of this city, Mr. Isaac Allen, Mrs. Phebe Davenport, Mrs. Louisa Budlong and Mrs. Lucia S. Belding.
