Jensen, H.A. "Andy"

H.A. (Andy) Jensen 1923 - 2008 Andy Jensen passed away on October 30, 2008. He had a long, full life. Andy was the second of 13 children and was raised on a farm in Eastern Colorado. He joined the Navy in 1941 and was on a San Diego beach guarding against Japanese attack hours after Pearl Harbor was bombed. He loved to fly and flew PBY patrol boats in the Pacific theater. He returned to the States in 1944 and continued his flight training. After leaving the Navy, Andy went to work for International Harvester Company in Denver. He started at the parts department position and advanced his career until achieving Regional Manager for the Truck Division. In 1969 he bought Jensen International on Rosedale Hwy. and continued serving Kern County truckers until he retired in 1986. He loved his family and golf, horseshoes, fishing, hunting, camping, etc. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Hazel; and four children: Jim Jensen and wife Fran of Plano, TX, John Jensen, Jeri Baker and husband, Dean, Krisi Heriford and husband, Steve; and his three grandchildren: Tamara, Jeff and Chad. He was a wonderful husband and father and will be greatly missed. A memorial will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery (River Blvd. & Panorama Dr.), at 2:00 p.m., on Friday, December 5th.
