Ira son of Moses and Eliza Dolly (Goodwin) Wilson.

Ira married Harriet L. Hight July 20, 1873 in Greenville, Michigan.

Father of 3 children: Agnes Olive (Calkins), William B. and Mary Adeline (Comer, Font).

The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Monday, December 15, 1930 Ira Wilson, 84, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Mary Font, King street, Sunday afternoon of the infirmities of old age.

Funeral services will be conducted from the home of Mrs. Font Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 and at the I.H.A. mission at 2 o'clock. Rev. John Youngs will be in charge.

Burial will be in Woodard Lake cemetery. Mr. Wilson was a native of St. Clair county. In 1861 he and his two brothers, William and Alfred, enlisted in the 22d Michigan and were mustered out at Pontiac. Ira and Alfred were discharged at the close of the war, Alfred dying at Barryton five years ago, and William lost his life in the Battle of Chickamauga.

At the close of the war Mr. Wilson located in Ronald township and had made his home there, but spent the past 15 winters with another daughter, Mrs. Agnes Calkins, in Los Angeles, Cal. Besides the two daughters, a sister, Mrs. Nora Gilmore, and a brother, Otis Wilson, both of Ronald, survive, besides four grandchildren.

The Ionia Sentinel-Standard Wednesday, December 17, 1930 Members of the American legion, Ralph Donaldson, Forrest Beemer, Spencer Smith, and Charles Jack, Jr., served as bearers at the funeral services Tuesday afternoon for Ira Wilson. Mr. Wilson, a Civil war veteran, died Sunday afternoon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Mary Font, King street.

Brief services were held there at 1:30, and then services were conducted at the I.H.A. Mission, both in charge of Rev. John Young. The interment was made in the Woodard Lake cemetery. Mrs. Fred Parr and Mrs. Peter Gallagher provided the musical selections.
