Joseph Doudy, 85, of 315 S. 3rd St., Montrose, died at 11:45 p.m. Thursday at Veterans Hospital. He had been a patient for the past six weeks.
Mr. Doudy, a farmer, had been a resident of Montrose for the past 54 years.
He was born in Hamburg, Germany on April 6, 1875. Mr. Doudy was married at Aspen on Sept. 15 1902, to Estella Sanders, who survives.
Mr. Doudy was a Spanish-American War veteran and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He served in the Army from Sept. 16, 1899 to June 30, 1901.
Survivors also include five sons, Joe Jr. and Edward of Montrose; Melvin and George of Whittier, Calif and Glen of Eckert; two daughters Marie of Pueblo, and Esther of Minot, N.D. and 14 grandchildren.
