Mrs. Blanche Bell, 59 - A Local Woman Dies During Stay in Manchester, Mass
Mrs. Blanche Mae (Carey) Bell, 59, of Brattleboro, widow of Alfred Bell, died unexpectedly during the night, September 4, 1952, in Manchester, Mass.
Employed in the home of Atty. and Mrs. Robert T. Gannett, II, of Pleasant Valley Road the past three years, Mrs. Bell accompanied the Gannett family to Manchester early last month.
Funeral services will be held at Rohde's Funeral Home, Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock with burial in Meetinghouse Hill Cemetery, Brattleboro, VT.
Born in West Chesterfield, NH, November 25, 1891, she was a daughter of Ernest Adelbert Carey and Mattie Jerusha Colburn. She had been a resident of Brattleboro about 35 years.
Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Bernard Johnson of Brattleboro and Mrs. Wallace Bly and Mrs. Arthur Edson, both of Vernon; one son, Kenneth, of this town; three sisters, Mrs. Morton Chickering and Mrs. Henry Rudolf of Keene, NH and Mrs. Warren Johnson of Vernon, and one brother, Clifton Carey of Keene, NH. She also leaves 13 grandchildren.
Mrs. Bell was a member of the First Baptist Church.
