Obituary: Stevens Point Daily Journal, July 8, 1947. James Patrick McTigue, age 72, a member of a well known town of Lanark family, died Monday afternoon at 2:15 o'clock at St. Michael's hospital. He had been making his home recently with his son, Frank McTigue, 819 Strongs avenue. Mr. McTigue became suddenly ill last Saturday morning and entered the hospital on Sunday. A son of the late James and Mary McTigue, Mr. McTigue was born in Stevens Point on March 13, 1875. When he was six years old the McTigue family moved to Lanark where he resided until last October when he returned to Stevens Point to make his home with his son. His marriage to Mary Cooney of Lanark took place at St. Patrick's Catholic church at Lanark on November 19, 1902. Surviving are his wife, two sons, Frank of Stevens Point and Vern, a student at Redemptorist Fathers at Oconomowoc, and four daughters, Mrs. Bert Kolz of Lanark, Mrs. John Porter of Milwaukee, Mrs. Herman Heuer of Cudahy and Mrs. Adrian Brunker of Belmont, a brother, Thomas McTigue of Stevens Point, a sister, Mrs. George McGinley of Buena Vista, and nine grandchildren. A sister, Mrs. Mary Peterson of Stevens Point, preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 10 o'clock at St. Patrick's church, Lanark, with burial in the parish cemetery. The body is at the Crosby funeral home where the rosary will be said this evening and Wednesday evening at 8 o'clock.
