Levi Sherman was born about 1841 (sic 1833) Summerhill, Cayuga County, NY. He married Jane Robinson (also found as Robison) in Kingston, Illinois. They had one son, William Sherman, born in about 1860. I have read they had a daughter also, but have not found proof of that. Levi died in Bowling Green, Kentucky of disease and was buried in Nashville. After Levi's death, Jane Robinson Sherman married a friend of Levi's and soldier, Oscar Aurner, who unfortunately drowned in 1866. Jane remarried to Frank Davis after moving to Benton County, Iowa with other family members. William Sherman moved to Iowa also and married Caroline Harper. William lived in Cedar and Benton counties.
