Mrs. Rosa Blanton Long, 72, died Thursday, Feb 7 in King's Daughters' hospital, Ashland, after a short illness. Born Feb 4, 1908, in Johnson County, she was the daughter of Harry and Betty Davis Blanton, and was a member of the United Baptist Church. Her husband, Walter Long, preceded her in death April 2, 1974. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Tresia Long Wheeler, Ashland; a brother, Johnny Blanton, Tutor Key; six sisters, Ruie Osborne, Prestonsburg, Virgie Bayes, Staffordsville, Jewell Lang, Glenburnie, MD, Anna Corte, College Park, MD, Dora Fink, Baltimore, MD, and Marie Dutton, Tremont, OH; one granddaughter. Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb 9, in Paintsville Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Carter officiating. Burial was in Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, with Paintsville Funeral Home handling arrangements.
